Essay Test for May 2007
THE PROMPT: Think about someone special who has influenced your life in a positive way. Think about how that person came into your life, your relationship and what they did to help you. This can include being a good role model, being a member of the family who is supportive, or being a friend who helped in a time of need. Do a prewrite and an essay telling the story of this person. Include important details and specific instances.
Section 1 – Prewrite: Read the prompt. Create a detailed prewrite for this essay using a list, web or chart. Do this on paper and attach to this cover. Worth 100 points Section 2: Draft: Write a draft essay to the prompt using the prewrite that you created. This should be a detailed portrait of a person. The reader should have a clear understanding of what the person looked like, sounded like and the role he or she played in your life. This essay should be at least 400 words. Hand write the essay and attach to this cover and turn into the tray. Worth 200 points.
Section 3: Revise and edit during the next class for a final additional grade.
