Plans for March
- Author Research, Projects, Presentations – you will need to finish these and present them. The research papers will be put up on the wiki, the presentations that were done in Power Point and Protopage will also have links added to the wiki. (ELA Standards #1,2,3). Hopefully the presentations will be completed around the middle of the month.
- Short Stories Unit – “To Build a Fire” by Jack London. Find this in our Best Short Story texts. We will use this story to learn about plot, characters, theme, conflict and strategies for test taking. The test includes short answer and essay questions.
- Also, we will tackle “Raymond’s Run” and use it to determine character traits and author’s craft. Speaking of characters – we have a few in here! We will use your personality traits to understand your actions, just what an author does when telling about a character. So, what kind of character are you?
- DSTP- preparation for this awesome opportunity to show what you know! Strategies include: best guess, word analysis, elimination, writing tips for a 5!!! For the stand alone prompt S will review TAP, the 5 traits and metaphor. Three different prompts will be reviewed, analyzed and written.
DSTP Tests will be
March 14, 15 and then 19, 20 and 22,23.
